Cuban Heel

**Cuban Heel** was a short-lived but memorable indie electronic project formed by New Zealand musicians Aaron Short (of The Naked and Famous) and producer Joel Little (known for his work with Lorde). The duo blended moody synth textures and pulsing rhythms, creating a sound that felt both introspective and dancefloor-ready. Their 2014 EP *Never Cry Wolf* featured tracks like "Light On," "Coins," and "Slippery Slope," showcasing their knack for crafting brooding yet catchy electronic pop. While Cuban Heel remained a side project for both artists—who soon returned to their main ventures—their collaboration left a crisp, neon-lit imprint on the indie-electronic scene.
