Jennifer Rush

Jennifer Rush is an American singer and songwriter, who achieved international fame in the mid-1980s with her chart-topping hit "The Power of Love." Born Heidi Stern in New York City on September 28, 1960, she spent portions of her early life in both the US and Germany, where she began her music career. In the heady days of the 1980s, Rush's powerful vocals and emotive ballads resonated with audiences, leading to multi-platinum success across Europe and beyond.

Her self-titled debut album, released in 1984, included "The Power of Love," which held the record for the highest-ever selling single by a female solo artist in the UK until being surpassed in 1992. Rush continued to release albums throughout the 80s and 90s, including "Movin'," "Heart Over Mind," "Passion," and "Wings Of Desire," producing a string of hits that sustained her popularity. In more recent years, Rush has stayed connected to her fan base through compilation releases such as "Jennifer Rush - The Hit Box," "Jennifer Rush Superhits," and "Stronghold - The Collector's Hit Box," revisiting her classics while occasionally offering new remixes and material, like the "Ring of Ice (Stereoact Remix)." Her enduring appeal is a testament to the power of her voice and the timeless quality of her songs. Despite a more discreet profile in the 2000s, Jennifer Rush’s contributions to pop music remain an inspiration for powerhouse vocalists and romantic balladeers worldwide.
