Ang Li

Ang Li is a Canadian classical pianist of Chinese origin who's been captivating audiences with her technical precision and emotive interpretations since emerging on the international stage. A graduate of the prestigious Curtis Institute of Music under Gary Graffman, she gained early recognition as a competitor in both the 2005 and 2009 Van Cliburn International Piano Competitions. Known for her thoughtful approach to Romantic and Impressionist repertoire, she's released acclaimed recordings spanning Debussy's dreamy soundscapes, Rachmaninoff's lush textures, and Chopin's poetic works. Her discography also reveals a playful side through Gershwin arrangements and Earl Wild's virtuosic transcriptions. Beyond the competition circuit, Ang Li has developed a special niche with projects like her "25 Solo Piano Hymns and Spiritual Songs," blending classical refinement with accessible sacred music traditions.
