Seán Griffin is an Irish-American singer-songwriter from Danbury, Connecticut, now calling Kingston in New York's Hudson Valley home. Growing up in a musical family with a dad who sang barbershop and a mom on accordion, he soaked up traditional Irish tunes from a young age, sang in church and school, and kicked off his own songwriting in high school bands before hitting NYC in 1998 to form the Celtic rock/punk outfit The Ruffians with his brother—earning them props as the "Y-Generation Pogues" and gigs opening for Shane MacGowan’s Popes and Black 47.
These days, Griffin's diving into his debut solo album (dropping March 2026), kicking it off with infectious singles like "People Are Mad," "Rocks Off," "People are Mad (Acoustic)," and the festive "I'm in Love for Christmas"—all blending his Celtic roots, punk energy, and clever lyrics with production heavyweights like Grammy-winner Kenny Siegel. A dad with "a pile of kids" and influences from The Clash, Pogues, Oasis, and Violent Femmes, he's gearing up for tours across North America, the UK, Europe, and a seven-night Ireland stint in 2026.
