Heideroosjes are a Dutch punk rock band hailing from the small town of Horst, Limburg, formed in 1989. Emblematic of their energetic and uncensored approach to music, the band's name, Heideroosjes, is a playful Dutch word melding innocence with brashness. The group consists of Marco Roelofs (vocals/guitar), Frank Kleuskens (guitar/vocals), Fred Houben (bass), and Igor Hobus (drums). They quickly gained a reputation for their lively performances and forthright lyrics, tackling a diverse range of topics from politics and society to personal struggles and humor.
Throughout their career, which spans over three decades, the Heideroosjes have distinguished themselves not only within the Dutch punk scene but also internationally, singing in Dutch, English, German, and Limburgish. The band's discography is a testament to their dynamism and refusal to be pigeonholed, evidenced by their most recent releases such as the biting "Tering Tyfus Takketrut (remix)", the reflective "Infocalyps", and the raucous live album "30 Years… Live!" which commemorates their longevity in the scene. Despite announcing a split in 2012, Heideroosjes have since played reunion shows and continue to engage with their fans, old and new, with their brand of punk that remains as relevant and rebellious as ever.
