Salmo

Salmo, born Maurizio Pisciottu on June 29, 1984, in Olbia, Sardinia, Italy, is a prominent figure in the Italian hip-hop scene. Distinguished by his unique blend of hardcore rap, grunge, and electronic music, he has carved out a significant place for himself in the music industry. Salmo started his journey in music playing bass and composing songs for a nu-metal band before shifting his focus to rap. His solo career took off with his debut album, "The Island Chainsaw Massacre," in 2011, which exhibited his raw style and dark, edgy lyricism.

Over the years, Salmo has continued to diversify his sound while maintaining a stark, gritty edge that resonates with many listeners. His subsequent albums, such as "Midnite" (2013), "Hellvisback" (2016), and "Playlist" (2018), have further solidified his position as a leading artist in Italian rap. Notably, Salmo has extended his influence beyond his own recordings, contributing to and producing the original soundtrack for the series "BLOCCO 181." His recent works, including "FLOP" and collaborations with artists like BLANCO on "LA CANZONE NOSTRA," showcase his dynamic and evolving approach to music, rich in both confrontational verses and infectious rhythms. With an unplugged project and a series of singles highlighting his versatility, Salmo's raw energy and forward-thinking production continuously push the boundaries of the hip-hop genre.
