Sinawe is widely recognized as one of South Korea's pioneering heavy metal bands, formed in the mid-1980s by guitarist and producer Shin Daechul, son of legendary Korean guitarist Shin Joong-hyun. Often credited as laying the foundation for the country's rock and metal scene, Sinawe debuted with the album "Heavy Metal Sinawe" in 1986, which introduced their aggressive sound and helped push the genre into the Korean mainstream.
Over the years, Sinawe became a revolving door for some of Korea’s top rock vocalists, including Yim Jae-beom and Seo Taiji, the latter of whom would go on to become a transformative figure in K-pop. The band's style evolved with each lineup change, blending hard rock, metal, and alternative influences while maintaining their core edge. With albums like "Circus" and "Sinawe Vol. 4," they've showcased both musical versatility and endurance, earning them a lasting legacy in the Korean rock scene.
