Optimus Gryme

Optimus Gryme, also known as Charlie Brown, is a pioneering figure in New Zealand's electronic music scene. He began his career more than two decades ago, initially focusing on drum and bass before transitioning into dubstep. Charlie has been instrumental in shaping the country's bass music landscape, having released New Zealand's first solo dubstep EP, *Annihilation Of The Ego*, in 2008. He also launched the first dubstep 12-inch on his imprint, Optimus Gryme Recordings.

Over the years, Optimus Gryme has played over 2000 shows and performed at some of New Zealand's largest festivals, collaborating with notable artists like Shapeshifter and Tiki Taane. Despite announcingassistant set it, there is evidence he has continued to contribute to the music scene. Recent releases include *The Rebirth Of Gryme*, *Inception*, and *In too Deep / Fear of Freedom*, among others. His passion and dedication to music have made him a beloved figure in both local and international electronic music circles.
