The Clarion Choir

The Clarion Choir is a New York-based vocal ensemble celebrated for breathing new life into sacred Russian choral masterpieces. Led by artistic director Steven Fox, the group specializes in meticulously researched performances of works like Rachmaninoff’s lush *All-Night Vigil* and Kastalsky’s haunting *Memory Eternal*, often reviving scores that were nearly lost to history. Their Grammy-nominated 2016 recording of the *All-Night Vigil* catapulted them to international attention, praised for its blend of spiritual intensity and technical polish. More recently, they’ve championed Maximilian Steinberg’s *Passion Week*, a sweeping 1923 work suppressed under Soviet rule. Known for their luminous blend and commitment to historical authenticity, the choir performs in major venues like Carnegie Hall while keeping one foot firmly in the incense-clouded traditions of Orthodox liturgy.
