Molly Barth

Molly Barth is a Grammy Award-winning flutist known for her dynamic performances and fearless approach to contemporary classical music. A founding member of the acclaimed contemporary ensemble eighth blackbird, she has built a career championing new works and pushing the boundaries of what the flute can do. Molly is a passionate soloist and chamber musician who frequently collaborates with today's leading composers, commissioning and premiering numerous works across various genres.

In addition to her performing career, Barth is a respected educator. She teaches at the University of Oregon’s School of Music and Dance, where she trains the next generation of adventurous flutists. Her recordings—including albums like Mirórs, Vento Appassionato, and David Lang: Thorn—showcase her versatility and commitment to expanding the flute repertoire. Whether on stage or in the studio, Molly Barth brings a bold, expressive voice to everything she plays.
