NOVO Quartet is a dynamic Danish-Polish string quartet formed in Copenhagen in 2018, consisting of violinists Kaya Kato Møller and Nikolai Vasili Nedergaard, violist Daniel Śledziński, and cellist Signe Ebstrup Bitsch. Known for their adventurous spirit and strong musical bond, the group has quickly gained recognition in the classical music scene, winning top prizes in prestigious competitions such as the Concours de Genève, the Carl Nielsen Chamber Music Competition, and the Irene Steels-Wilsing Foundation International String Quartet Competition. They study under Professor Johannes Meissl at the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien and previously trained with Professor Tim Frederiksen at the Royal Danish Academy of Music.
With an energetic performance schedule of around 75 concerts a year, NOVO Quartet has performed at world-class venues like Wigmore Hall and Victoria Hall and has actively sought diverse outreach opportunities, bringing music to places like Kenya, Greenland, and Colombia. They have collaborated with ensembles such as Quatuor Modigliani and the Danish String Quartet, and participated in genre-crossing projects. Their ongoing fresh exploration and curiosity have led them to being named BBC New Generation Artists for 2025–27 and members of The Young Artistic Elite 2024–26 by the Danish Arts Foundation. Beyond music, they also engage creatively with fashion brands and organize their own festival, ACROSS, dedicated to chamber music from around the globe.
