B21

B21 is an iconic bhangra music group from the UK, which rose to prominence in the international Punjabi music scene during the late 1990s and early 2000s. The band was formed by three British Punjabi Sikh musicians: Jassi Sidhu, Bhota Jagpal, and his brother Bally Jagpal. Drawing its name from the Birmingham postal district B21, the group infused traditional Punjabi music with western styles, becoming trailblazers in the bhangra fusion genre. B21's sound is characterized by energetic beats, catchy melodies, and a blend of Punjabi and English lyrics that appeal to both South Asian and Western audiences.

The band's discography showcases their evolutionary approach to music with albums like "Long Overdue" (1998) and "By Public Demand" (1999), setting benchmarks in the industry. Their album "Made in England" (2001) further cemented their reputation as one of the defining acts in bhangra music, as they effortlessly merged Punjabi folk with contemporary sounds. After a brief hiatus, B21 made a comeback with the album "12B" which kept loyal fans engaged with their signature style. Although the band no longer records together after Sidhu embarked on a successful solo career, their lasting legacy is evident in albums like "The Sound of B21" and tracks such as "Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui" which continue to be celebrated by fans of the genre.
