Wolfgang Glüxam

Wolfgang Glüxam was a talented Austrian harpsichordist and organist who made a name for himself in the world of early music. Born in Vienna in 1958, he studied at the University of Music and Performing Arts there, honing his skills on historical keyboard instruments and diving deep into Baroque and Classical repertoires. He became known for his sensitive interpretations of composers like Bach, Mozart, and Froberger, often performing in concerts across Europe and collaborating with ensembles focused on period instruments. Glüxam also taught at his alma mater and released several acclaimed albums that showcased his expertise, blending technical precision with a real passion for the music's historical context.

Sadly, Glüxam passed away in 2020 at the age of 62, but his recordings—like those exploring Bach's variations, Mozart duets, and Froberger's keyboard works—continue to inspire fans of classical music. His approachable style and dedication to authenticity made him a beloved figure in the early music scene, proving that old-school tunes can still feel fresh and exciting.
