Brain Donation

Brain Donation is an English power trio formed in July 1999 by Julian Cope along with two members of Spiritualized, Doggen Foster on lead guitar and Kevin 'Kevlar' Bales on drums. Known for their unique style that fuses Van Halen-style heavy metal with garage rock influences reminiscent of Blue Cheer and Japanese noise rock bands like High Rise and Mainliner, the band embraced full kabuki-style makeup akin to early KISS performances. Their debut album, *Love Peace & Fuck*, initially received harsh reviews for its heavy guitar production and excessive soloing, but it has since been recognized as a classic in the American underground heavy metal scene. Brain Donation released several albums until they became inactive after 2009's *Wasted Fuzz Excessive*.

Their music is often described as raw, tongue-in-cheek, dramatic, self-deprecating, and sometimes ridiculous, reflecting a playful underground ethos. With a distinct blend of influences and a bold visual presentation, Brain Donation stands out as a cult favorite in heavy psychedelic rock and metal circles.
