Jomi Massage

Jomi Massage is the artistic alter-ego of Danish musician, composer, and author Signe Høirup Wille-Jørgensen, born in 1974. Known for her fearless and experimental approach to music, she has been a significant figure in the Danish alternative scene since the mid-1990s. Her sound blends noise, experimental alternative, folk, spoken word, art rock, and conceptual art, often creating powerful, arresting compositions that frame what is fragile while expressing what is violent. Beyond music, Jomi Massage is involved in performance art, politics, and writing, making her a multifaceted creative force based in Copenhagen. She also fronts the Danish alt-rock band Speaker Bite Me. The name "Jomi Massage" interestingly originates from a 1960s Danish electric massage device that carried connotations of sensuality and innocence, reflecting the layered nature of her work.

Her albums and songs, such as the critically noted "Primitives" released in 2013, showcase her unique voice and instrumentation, including vocals, piano, drums, and ukulele. Her music often explores themes of life’s contradictions and emotional complexity, demonstrated in tracks like "A fake start is Life" and "Stray Arrows." Recently, she has been active under the artist name JOMI, with releases like "LYST" and singles including "Byen som cirkler" and "JaNejMåske," which have received acclaim in Denmark. Her work has also been featured in media such as the Via Play series "Den som dræber" (Those Who Kill), underlining her broad cultural impact.
