Robert DiLutis

Robert DiLutis is a renowned American clarinetist and educator, currently serving as the Professor of Clarinet at the University of Maryland, School of Music, and as the Principal Clarinetist of the Annapolis Symphony Orchestra. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, to a family of musicians, he began his studies with his father and later at the Peabody Conservatory under William Blayney. DiLutis further honed his skills at the Juilliard School with David Weber. In 1989, he made his debut at Carnegie Recital Hall after winning the Artist International Chamber Music Competition. Throughout his career, he has performed as a soloist with prominent orchestras like the San Antonio Symphony and the Rochester Philharmonic, and has toured with the New York Philharmonic.

DiLutis has a diverse discography, including albums such as "Dedications: Clarinet Trios of Beethoven & Brahms," "Destination Riverdale," "Clarinet Classics at Riversdale," and "Mozart at the Mansion." He is also the creator of the Reed Machine, a reed-making device used by many professionals. Additionally, he co-directs the Clarinet Academy of America, an intensive summer program for advanced clarinetists. His extensive teaching experience includes positions at Louisiana State University, St. Mary's University, and Nazareth College, among others. As a performer, educator, and innovator, Robert DiLutis continues to make significant contributions to the world of classical music.
