Litvintroll was formed in 2005 and primarily performed medieval music on ancient instruments. Before long the band extended its lineup and began to perform folk-metal, keeping duda - Belarusian bagpipe - as the leading instrument.
The first album Rock'n'Troll was released 15 April 2009 and received good feedbacks of the public and critics. For a long time this album was in the top 10 on the Belarusian metal radio stations and took the first place as the Album of the year on the Polish radio Centrum.fm. Making a success the band toured the cities of Belarus and Russia, also visited Europe performing on various concerts and festivals including: Black Troll Festival (DE), The Northern Lights Festival (AT), Viru Folk (EE), Menuo Juodaragis (LT), Kilkim Zaibu (LT).
In spring 2012, the band decided to record a new album, but all the work was stopped because of the tragic accident death of Aleh Klimchanka (bass player) during the concert. As a result the release of the album was delayed, but it only roused interest to the band. There were a lot of questions to the musicians: What are you going to do? What next? The answer was a grand solo gig in the largest concert club of Minsk - Re:Public, where the presentation of new lineup and new show took place. New album was released on the label Sound Age (Russia's largest publisher of music in the style of folk and pagan metal). At once the new album got to the top of Belarusian music charts, received the Album of the Year Award according to Euroradio.fm and it was the starting point of a new history of the group.
Reborn, the band toured with a new show in the cities of Europe. Litvintroll has shared the stage with Korpiklaani (FI), Metsatoll (EE), Arkona (RU), Skyforger (LV), Troll Bends Fir (RU) and performed as supporting act of Motorhead (UK) and Enslaved (NO).
At the beginning of 2014 Litvintroll signed a contract with the booking agency Heart of Rock and successfully toured in Poland.
In 2015 the Litvintroll split up and former trolls assembled new band called Sakramant
