Han Chen is a Chinese-American pianist who has been praised for his "virtuosic technique" and "deeply poetic interpretations." Born in Shanghai, Chen began playing the piano at the age of four and gave his first public performance at the age of seven. He studied at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music and the Juilliard School, where he was a student of Jerome Lowenthal.
Chen has performed with major orchestras around the world, including the New York Philharmonic, the Boston Symphony Orchestra, and the London Symphony Orchestra. He has also given solo recitals in prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, and the Wigmore Hall. Chen's recordings have been released on the Naxos, Sony Classical, and Deutsche Grammophon labels.
