David Barbe is a singer-songwriter and producer who has been a fixture in the Athens, Georgia music scene for over three decades. He is best known for his work with the band Sugar, which he co-founded in 1992. Sugar released three albums before disbanding in 1999, and Barbe has since gone on to release several solo albums and produce records for a wide range of artists, including Vic Chesnutt, Drive-By Truckers, and The Whigs.
