Eric Burdon is an English singer-songwriter best known as the frontman of the rock band The Animals. Born in Newcastle upon Tyne, England, in 1941, Burdon began his musical career in the early 1960s, forming The Animals in 1963. The band quickly gained international fame with their hit singles "House of the Rising Sun" and "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood." After The Animals disbanded in 1968, Burdon went on to form several other bands, including War and Eric Burdon & the New Animals. He has also released several solo albums throughout his career. Burdon is known for his powerful vocals and energetic stage presence, and he continues to perform and record music today.
