White Lion

White Lion emerged on the hard rock scene in the 1980s, initially formed in New York City by Danish vocalist Mike Tramp and American guitarist Vito Bratta. The band experienced their peak success with their second album "Pride" released in 1987, which went double platinum in the United States. They stood out for their blend of heavy guitar riffs with melodic harmonies and Tramp's emotive vocal style. Despite the band's image falling squarely within the glam metal trend of the era, their music often carried deeper messages about social issues, love, and human emotions.

The band's discography includes notable albums like "Fight to Survive" (1985), which set the foundation for their style, "Big Game" (1989) which continued to showcase their versatility, and "Mane Attraction" (1991), where they further honed their craft. Hits such as "When the Children Cry," "Wait," and "All You Need Is Rock 'n' Roll" became anthems of the era, with the former reaching number 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Despite internal tensions and changing musical landscapes, White Lion disbanded in 1991 but has since seen various reunion attempts with different lineups. Their music continues to be celebrated, and they are remembered as an integral part of the 80s rock scene, with re-recorded and remastered versions of their classics bringing their legacy to new generations of rock enthusiasts.
