Lukas Geniušas
Lukas Geniušas is a Lithuanian-Russian pianist known for his powerful technique and deeply thoughtful interpretations of a wide-ranging repertoire. Born in Moscow in 1990 into a family of musicians, he began playing piano at a young age and quickly gained acclaim for his remarkable musical maturity. A prize-winner at top international competitions, including the International Tchaikovsky Competition and the Chopin Piano Competition, Geniušas has since developed a dynamic international career performing with major orchestras and at prestigious concert halls worldwide.
He is particularly noted for his interpretations of Romantic and early 20th-century repertoire, performing works by Rachmaninoff, Prokofiev, Chopin, and Beethoven, among others. Geniušas also explores modern and lesser-known contemporary works, showing a deep curiosity for musical innovation. His discography includes critically praised recordings of Rachmaninoff’s complete Preludes and Prokofiev’s piano sonatas, earning him recognition as one of the most exciting pianists of his generation.
