Known for his adventurous spirit and collaborative nature, he's constantly exploring new sonic territories, whether through solo saxophone excursions, electro-acoustic improvisation, or free jazz dialogues with a wide range of musicians. He's released a massive catalog of recordings, often on his own Evander Music label, showcasing his deep commitment to spontaneous composition and pushing the boundaries of the saxophone.
Beyond his performance work, Greenlief is also dedicated to fostering community and supporting fellow artists. He's a co-founder of the Bay Area Improv Scene, an online resource documenting the region's vibrant experimental music community, and he's organized numerous festivals and workshops.
