Emily's Army was a pop-punk band from Oakland, California, formed in 2004 by a group of young musicians, including brothers Cole and Max Becker. The band's sound mixed youthful energy with classic punk influences, drawing comparisons to early Green Day. In fact, Billie Joe Armstrong—father of drummer Joey Armstrong (Billie's son)—produced their early work, including their debut album Don't Be a Dick (2011) and its follow-up Lost at Seventeen (2013).
Known for their raw energy and catchy melodies, Emily's Army went through a few stylistic changes over the years, eventually moving toward a more garage-rock and indie-rock sound. In 2015, the band rebranded themselves as SWMRS, marking a new chapter in their musical journey. Despite the name change, their time as Emily’s Army laid a strong foundation and earned them a passionate fan base.
