Billy J. Kramer, born William Howard Ashton, was a British pop singer who rose to fame in the early 1960s. He is best known for his association with The Dakotas, a backing band that also featured future Beatles drummer Ringo Starr. Kramer's biggest hits include "Do You Want to Know a Secret?" and "Bad to Me," both of which reached number one on the UK Singles Chart. After leaving The Dakotas in 1964, Kramer continued to record and perform as a solo artist, but never achieved the same level of success. He retired from music in the 1980s and became a successful businessman.
