Traitrs

Traitrs is a Toronto-based post-punk/gothic rock duo that has rapidly emerged as a darkly alluring force within the alternative music scene. Founded in 2015 by Sean-Patrick Nolan and Shawn Tucker, the pair have cultivated a distinct sound characterized by haunting melodies, introspective lyrics, and an atmospheric blend that echoes the bleakness and intensity reminiscent of the 80's post-punk era. Their sonic landscape weaves together a heavy use of reverb-laden guitars, synth textures, and emotionally charged vocal performances.

With a string of compelling releases, Traitrs has built a reputation for their evocative and cinematic style. Albums such as "Butcher's Coin" and "Rites and Ritual" showcase a band unafraid to delve into themes of pain, despair, and the darker corners of the human experience. The duo's momentum continued to grow with "The Suffering of Spiders" and "Pale," leading up to their 2021's dark opus, "Horses in the Abattoir," which was well-received by both fans and critics alike. Their music, often remixed and reinterpreted, including in their own track "The Eye That Follows Suit (TRAITRS Remix)," reflects an evolving but consistently emotive and richly layered auditory journey that continues to enthrall a growing contingent of international listeners.
