Tito & Tarantula is a Chicano rock band formed in the early 1990s by singer, songwriter, and guitarist Tito Larriva. Known for their gritty, blues-infused rock sound and cinematic flair, the band gained widespread recognition for their contributions to film soundtracks—most notably for their songs “After Dark” and “Angry Cockroaches,” which were featured in Robert Rodriguez’s cult classic From Dusk Till Dawn. Larriva, who had previously fronted bands like The Plugz and Cruzados, brought a distinct blend of punk, Latin, and Gothic rock influences to Tito & Tarantula.
Over the years, the band has seen various lineup changes but has remained anchored by Larriva’s unmistakable voice and songwriting. They’ve built a dedicated following through atmospheric albums and energetic live performances, often weaving together dark, moody tones with vibrant rhythms. With releases like ¡Brincamos! and Lost Tarantism, Tito & Tarantula continue to showcase their genre-blending style and strong visual-audio connection—a signature that makes them stand out in the alternative and Chicano rock scenes.
