Snow Patrol

Snow Patrol is a Northern Irish-Scottish rock band formed in 1994 by the original trio of Gary Lightbody (vocals, guitar), Michael Morrison (drums) and Mark McClelland (bass) while they were students at the University of Dundee in Scotland. Although Morrison left the band in 1997 and was replaced by Jonny Quinn, and McClelland left in 2005 to be succeeded by Paul Wilson, it was with the inclusion of Nathan Connolly (lead guitar) in 2002 that the band stabilized their most recognized lineup. Johnny McDaid (keyboard, guitar) became a full-fledged member after contributing to the band's 2006 breakthrough album, "Eyes Open."

Snow Patrol is best known for their emotive, indie-rock sound and have achieved significant success with their major-label debut "Final Straw," which was released in 2003 to critical and commercial acclaim. Their hit single "Run" catapulted them into the limelight, while their 2006 follow-up album "Eyes Open" featured "Chasing Cars," a track that became synonymous with emotive television moments around the world. The band's sound evolved over time, with later albums such as "A Hundred Million Suns" (2008) and "Fallen Empires" (2011) embracing more electronic elements. They have been known for their artistic evolution and connection with fans which continued with works like "Wildness" (2018) and reflective projects like "Reworked" (2019), where they revisited and transformed some of their classic tracks. Their commitment to their craft and their fanbase was further evidenced in releases such as "The Fireside Sessions" (2020), a collaborative EP with fans during the COVID-19 pandemic, and "Time Won't Go Slowly" (2019), which continues to showcase the band's enduring appeal and innate skill for introspective songwriting.
