Afar

AFAR is a collaborative music project formed by two musicians who blend electronic and organic sounds to create a unique soundscape that bridges the natural and industrial worlds. Their music ranges from dance-oriented rhythms with haunting vocals to ambient, multi-instrumental compositions. The duo originated in Berlin around 2014 following a serendipitous meeting during a living room jam session that led to their creative partnership. Their work reflects a love for improvisation and a fascination with contrasts, such as city life versus solitude in nature. AFAR has released several albums and singles, including recent works like *The Refuge* (2023) and *Psalm 13 - Tobie, Panie, Zaufałem* (2025).

The name AFAR itself is an old English word meaning "from far away" or "afar," which fits their ethos of connecting distant or disparate elements through music. The project’s sound has evolved over the years, encompassing influences from techno, lyrical punk, and jazz, reflecting the diverse backgrounds of the members. Their music invites listeners on an immersive journey through intricate rhythms and ethereal atmospheres, drawing them into a space where electronic and acoustic sounds coexist harmoniously.
