Morgan Geist

Morgan Geist is an American electronic music producer and DJ known for his sleek, synth-driven sound that blends elements of house, techno, and electro with a strong sense of melody and mood. Hailing from New Jersey, Geist has been a key figure in underground dance music since the mid-1990s, both as a solo artist and as one-half of the influential duo Metro Area, alongside Darshan Jesrani. Metro Area’s self-titled 2002 album became a cult classic, widely respected for its disco-infused minimalism and warmth.

As a solo artist, Geist has released music under his own name as well as the alias Storm Queen, scoring a UK number-one hit in 2013 with “Look Right Through.” His discography also includes the albums Double Night Time and the Megaprojects series, which showcase his knack for clean production and forward-thinking club tracks. In addition to his own work, Geist is a skilled remixer, lending his signature touch to tracks from artists like Tracey Thorn and The Rapture. He also runs the Environ label, a respected outlet that has supported innovative dance music for decades.
