Lyn Williams
Lyn Williams AM is an Australian choral conductor who has made a significant impact on the choral music scene, especially for young voices. She's the founder and artistic director of Gondwana Choirs, which includes the renowned Sydney Children's Choir. For over three decades, Williams has been harnessing the power of young voices through her world-renowned ensembles, which have performed with leading orchestras and at prestigious festivals globally.
Williams is known for her innovative approach, having commissioned over 200 works from composers across Australia and internationally. She's also recognized for her collaborations with First Nations artists, creating new works that celebrate and preserve Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island languages and cultures. In 2017, her contributions to Australian music were honored with the Australia Council for the Arts' Don Banks Music Award.
