Dzierzynski Bitz, also known as Dzerzhinski Bitz or Dz.Bitz, is an indie band founded by vocalist and main songwriter Wojciech Dzerzhinski. The group is based in Pavlovce nad Uhom, Slovakia, but their music reflects a broader international influence. Their unique sound blends elements of retro and new wave styles, drawing inspiration from East-European pre-war music and British new wave. The band's debut album "I II III" was released in 2012, featuring contributions from fifteen additional musicians and mixed in London. This eclectic blend earned them critical acclaim and a strong following across Eastern Europe.
Over the years, Dzierzynski Bitz has continued to evolve their style, incorporating more electronic and disco-funk elements, as seen in their 2014 album "Love Me Do," produced by Graham Sutton. The band has performed at numerous festivals, including Stereoleto and Krok-Rock, and has toured extensively across Ukraine, Russia, and other European countries. Their discography includes notable releases like "Podmoskovje / Vziat' Siloj" and "Novy Twist EP." With a dynamic live show and a distinctive sound, Dzierzynski Bitz remains a captivating presence in the indie music scene.
