Jazzmeia Horn

Jazzmeia Horn is a radiant force in the modern jazz scene, heralded for her soul-stirring vocals, bold artistry, and spirited improvisation. Born in Dallas, Texas, in 1991, Horn's passion for jazz was nurtured in a musically-rich household and further cultivated at the Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts. Honing her craft with diligence and respect for the greats who came before her, Jazzmeia's exceptional talent led her to the New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music in New York City, which became a launching pad for her burgeoning career.

Rising to prominence after clinching victory in prestigious competitions such as the Thelonious Monk Institute International Jazz Competition in 2015 and the Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition, Jazzmeia released her debut album, "A Social Call" in 2017, to critical acclaim, earning her a Grammy nomination and spotlighting her as a visionary voice in jazz music. Following up with the equally celebrated "Love and Liberation" in 2019, Jazzmeia continued to push the boundaries of the genre, offering a blend of original compositions and classic covers imbued with a message of empowerment and human connection. Her most recent project, "Where We Are," further underscores her evolving narrative as an artist unafraid to question, confront, and uplift through her stirring and sophisticated soundscapes. Jazzmeia Horn is not just a revivalist of the golden age of jazz; she is a modern-day griot shaping the contours of the genre's future with every note she sings.
