Bananarama

Bananarama is a British female pop music duo, originally formed in London in 1981 by friends Sara Dallin, Siobhan Fahey, and Keren Woodward. The trio became one of the most prominent all-female groups of the 1980s, with their success both in the UK and internationally. Their sound is characterized by catchy pop melodies coupled with dance-oriented beats, a synthesis that propelled them to chart success with hits like "Cruel Summer," "Venus," and "Love in the First Degree." Notably, the group entered the Guinness Book of World Records for achieving the world's highest number of chart entries by an all-female group.

Throughout their career, Bananarama has experienced lineup changes with Fahey departing the group in 1988 and replaced by Jacquie O'Sullivan who then left in 1991. Since then, Dallin and Woodward have continued Bananarama as a duo and have maintained the group's presence in the music industry. In recent times, they have released new material and remixes of their classic hits, such as the reworked "Robert De Niro’s Waiting / Velvet Lies (Remixes)" and the energetic Boys Noize rework of "Venus." They've continued touring, bringing nostalgia and new music to fans with live recordings like "Live in Stereo" and continually embracing remix culture as a way to keep their sound fresh and relevant. The group's longevity and continual evolution are a testament to their music's enduring appeal and their savvy adaptability to the changing tides of the pop landscape.
