Raimundo Amador

Raimundo Amador Fernández, born in Seville, Spain on May 26, 1959, is a celebrated flamenco guitarist renowned for fusing the traditional rhythms of his Andalusian roots with the blues, rock, and other forms of music. Amador began his musical career in a flamenco group with his brother, Rafael, called "Veneno," which provided a platform for their innovative flamenco style that incorporated elements of rock and other genres. This inventive approach opened up possibilities for blending flamenco with other musical forms, laying the groundwork for what would later be called "flamenco fusion."

Amador built upon this genre-blending style as he went on to form "Pata Negra" with his brother in the 1980s, catapulting to greater fame in the Spanish music scene. Eventually, he embarked on a successful solo career, always allowing his exploratory spirit to guide his music, as evident in albums like "Gerundina" (1997), where he once more redefined flamenco's musical boundaries. His most recent works, including "En mi soleá" and "60 Aniversario (Directo en Casa)", celebrate a career that has been characterized by its constant evolution and dedication to reinventing flamenco. Live albums like "Únicos en Concierto. Raimundo Amador (En Directo)" showcase the electrifying experience of his performances, while collaborations such as "Jazz a L'Estudi: Amador Medeiros" highlight his versatility and willingness to blend genres. Amador's contributions to both flamenco and its fusion with other musical forms have made him a venerated figure in contemporary Spanish music.
