**Soma Ghosh** is a renowned Indian singer of Hindustani classical music, hailing from the Banaras Gharana. Born on **April 20, 1962**, she graduated in literature from Banaras Hindu University and later pursued her master's in music, completing her Doctorate in Khayal from Music College, Banaras Hindu University. Dr. Ghosh has been a protege of the legendary Ustad Bismillah Khan, with whom she formed a close bond. She has written a book titled "Baba & Me," which shares her experiences and insights into Ustad Bismillah Khan's life. In 2016, Dr. Ghosh was awarded the Padma Shri by the Indian Government for her contributions to music.
