KEMURI

KEMURI is a Japanese ska-punk band that formed in 1995, known for their high-energy sound that fuses upbeat ska rhythms with punk rock edge. One of the defining features of KEMURI is their positive lyrical message, often promoting unity, hope, and perseverance—summed up by their motto “Positive Mental Attitude” or “PMA.” Their music is energetic and danceable, driven by punchy horn sections and fast-paced guitar work.

The band released its debut album “Little Playmate” in 1997 and quickly became a standout act in both the Japanese and international punk scenes. Over the years, KEMURI has built a loyal fan base not only in Japan but also in the U.S. and other parts of Asia and Europe, often touring extensively. Despite a brief split in 2007, the group reunited in 2012 and has continued to release new music, including albums like “SOLIDARITY” and “[Ko-Ou-Doku-Mai],” keeping their signature sound and spirited message alive.
