Sheng Jie

**Sheng Jie** (盛洁), also known as gogoj, is a Beijing-based audio-visual artist and experimental musician born in 1975. After studying at France’s École Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs de Strasbourg, she founded Shan Studio (2010) and DOT Audio Visual Art Laboratory (2018), and manages the Maybe Ensemble. Her work—spanning sound art, video installations, and performances—focuses on creating immersive, cross-sensory experiences that blend experimental music with visual storytelling. Recent releases like *Parallel Weaving* (a collaboration with Shen Jing) and *Ear Entropy* showcase her signature approach to weaving raw, textural soundscapes with conceptual depth.

Operating at the intersection of art and experimental music, Sheng Jie’s practice reflects an unorthodox relationship between her daily life and creative output, emphasizing what she describes as the “innermost honest core” of artistic expression. Her work has appeared globally, including exhibitions and performances in Beijing, Strasbourg, Berlin, and Tokyo.
