Michal Stahel is a renowned Slovak cellist, born on August 13, 1979, in Bratislava. He comes from a musical family and began playing the cello at the age of six. Stahel honed his skills at the Bratislava Conservatory and later studied at prestigious institutions in London, Vienna, Mannheim, and Paris. He specializes in historically informed performances, particularly focusing on the music of the 17th and 18th centuries. Stahel has collaborated with numerous orchestras, including the Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra and the Prague Chamber Philharmonic, and has worked under the direction of conductors like Andrew Parrott and Jiří Bělohlávek.
