Glenn Frey was an American singer, songwriter, and actor, best known as a founding member of the rock band the Eagles. Born in Detroit, Michigan, Frey began his music career in the early 1970s, playing guitar and singing in various bands. In 1971, he co-founded the Eagles with Don Henley, Bernie Leadon, and Randy Meisner. The band went on to become one of the most successful rock groups of all time, selling over 150 million records worldwide. Frey wrote or co-wrote many of the Eagles' biggest hits, including "Take It Easy," "Hotel California," and "Lyin' Eyes." He also had a successful solo career, releasing several albums and singles, including the hit "The Heat Is On." Frey died in 2016 at the age of 67.
