Drudensang

Drudensang is a German black metal band hailing from the Bavarian Forest region near the borders of Germany, Austria, and the Czech Republic. Formed in 2013 as an evolution of the band Ravnsvart, Drudensang's music is a powerful blend of old-school and atmospheric black metal richly infused with themes of Bavarian and Austrian devil worship, ancient myths, and folklore such as the Krampus and Perchten traditions. Their sound has evolved from raw early demos to a more refined, melodic yet intense style that captures the eerie spirit of dark rituals and wintery legends during the Rauhnächte (the twelve nights between years).

Known for albums like *Tuiflsrijtt* (2022), *Die Watzmannsage*, and *Verborgene Riten*, Drudensang crafts compelling soundscapes with fast tremolo picking, blast beats, and high-pitched black metal screams mixed with moments of melancholic melody and atmospheric passages. Their lyrics, mostly in German, dig deep into themes of occultism, darkness, and ancient devilry rooted in their regional heritage. This focus on tradition and mysticism, paired with a raw yet melodic black metal approach, has earned them recognition in the underground black metal community as a band that honors the genre’s roots while delivering a unique cultish atmosphere.
