Seikima-II

Seikima-II, known as 聖飢魔II in Japanese, is a unique and legendary heavy metal band hailing from Japan that has captivated audiences since their formation in 1982. Conceived and led by charismatic vocalist Demon Kogure, the group presents itself as a band of demonic entities from the "Akuma (demon) World," sent to Earth to conquer the planet through their music, which they define as "Akumetal" (a portmanteau of "devil" and "metal"). Each member of the band adopts a demonic character and elaborate stage persona, complete with backstories that contribute to the group's extensive mythology and stage theatrics.

The band's music combines traditional heavy metal, hard rock, and elements of glam metal, delivering a powerful sonic experience that is underscored by grandiose, theatrical live performances. Seikima-II's discography is expansive, filled with ambitious concept albums and hit singles that have left an indelible mark on Japan's rock scene. Despite announcing an "end of activities" in 1999, they've reunited on various occasions for anniversaries and special events, releasing live albums such as "聖飢魔II 期間再延長再集結「35++執念の大黒ミサツアー -東京FINAL-」" ("Seikima-II Extended Reunion '35++ Tenacious Great Black Mass Tour - Tokyo Final-'") and "地獄の再審請求 -LIVE BLACK MASS武道館-” ("Retrial by Hell -LIVE BLACK MASS Budokan-”). Their lasting appeal is a testament to their originality, musicianship, and the deep connection they’ve forged with their fans, known as "disciples."
