Trío Hermanos Rigual

Los Hermanos Rigual were a Cuban vocal and instrumental trio based in Mexico, renowned for their repertoire of Latin music, particularly during the 1960s. The group consisted of brothers Pedro, Carlos, and Mario Rigual, all born in Guantánamo. They began their career in Havana before moving to Mexico in 1947, where they achieved significant success. One of their most famous hits was "Cuando calienta el sol," which became an international sensation in 1962. This song, originally composed by Rafael Gastón Pérez, was later covered by numerous artists and helped the trio establish a strong presence in the European music scene, especially in Italy, Spain, and Portugal.

The trio's musical journey included performances in various countries, including Argentina, the United States, Canada, and Italy, where they participated in the Sanremo Music Festival in 1964. They also appeared in Mexican musical films like "Cucurrucucú, paloma" and "Despedida de casada." Their legacy is marked by their contributions to popularizing Latin music globally, alongside other notable artists of their time. Carlos Rigual passed away in 1994, Pedro in 2012, and Mario in 2017.
