Yasser Pino is a Cuban-born bassist, composer, and multi-instrumentalist now based in Copenhagen, Denmark. Born in Havana in 1976, he trained as a concertist and classical guitar teacher at the Amadeo Roldán Conservatory in Havana, graduating in 1995, and later earned a degree as a contrabass player and teacher from the Rhythmic Conservatory of Copenhagen in 2006. Pino has played with a variety of bands both in Cuba and internationally, including collaborations with major names like Chucho Valdés Jr., Roberto Fonseca, Afrocuban All Stars, and Harold Lopez-Nussa Trio. He currently leads his own Latin jazz project, The Latin Syndicate, and is recognized for his recent releases such as "Saoco," "O Som do Amor," "Cachaça," "Natura," and "Noche de Sal," showcasing his talent for blending Cuban roots with contemporary jazz influences.
Beyond performing, he maintains a busy schedule as a teacher of double bass, electric bass, guitar, and ensemble, and collaborates with celebrated musicians across Europe and beyond. Yasser Pino’s dynamic musicianship and deep connection to both Cuban and international music scenes have established him as a standout artist of his generation.
