Diamond Head

Diamond Head is a seminal British heavy metal band that has been credited as one of the leading influences on the New Wave of British Heavy Metal (NWOBHM) movement in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Formed in Stourbridge, England in 1976 by guitarist Brian Tatler and drummer Duncan Scott, Diamond Head was rounded out by vocalist Sean Harris and bassist Colin Kimberley. The band's early works, especially their debut album "Lightning to the Nations" (also known as "The White Album"), have been highly influential on many subsequent metal acts, most notably Metallica, who have covered several Diamond Head songs, including the iconic "Am I Evil?"

Throughout their career, Diamond Head has seen several lineup changes and periods of hiatus, with guitarist Brian Tatler remaining the consistent member. The band's legacy has persistently grown, with their early material, in particular, receiving critical acclaim for its complex musicality and innovative approach to the heavy metal genre. Even after four decades, Diamond Head has continued to record and tour, releasing new music like "The Coffin Train" in 2019 and reinvigorating old classics, as seen with the likes of "Lightning To The Nations 2020" and the various remastered tracks from their distinguished discography. The band's longevity and impact on the metal landscape render Diamond Head a venerable force whose riffs and melodies resonate through the ages.
