Castevet

Castevet was a progressive and atmospheric post-black metal band from New York City, active primarily in the late 2000s and early 2010s. They were known for blending black metal’s intensity with complex rhythms, mathcore influences, and an almost avant-garde approach to song structure. Featuring members like Andrew Hock (guitar/vocals), Ian Jacyszyn (drums), and Joshua Scott (bass), the band released critically acclaimed albums such as Mounds of Ash (2010) and Obsian (2013). Their music stood out for its textural guitar work, dynamic drumming, and a unique sense of controlled chaos that earned them a strong following in underground metal circles. Castevet eventually disbanded, but members have remained active in other influential projects within the extreme metal scene.
