Mathias Reumert is a Danish percussionist, performer, and conductor born in 1980. He is deeply involved in contemporary classical music and is recognized as one of the most frequently recorded new music percussionists of his generation. Reumert has collaborated with several renowned composers and has won first prizes at three international competitions, including the Gaudeamus Interpreters’ Competition. His debut CD featured Poul Ruders' Percussion Concerto, "Monodrama," conducted by Thomas Søndergård, which received praise from publications like the New York Times and the Philadelphia Inquirer. Additionally, Reumert is the creator and leader of the crossover ensemble Ekkozone, which explores the intersection of classical, jazz, and experimental music.
Reumert has also pursued a career as a classical conductor since 2015. His recent releases include a variety of contemporary and classical works, showcasing his versatility as a performer. These releases highlight his commitment to exploring diverse musical landscapes and his ability to interpret complex compositions with precision and flair.
