PSY・S[saiz]

PSY・S[saiz] was a dynamic Japanese synth-pop duo that lit up the music scene from the mid-’80s to the mid-’90s. Formed by keyboardist/producer Shinji Harada and vocalist/lyricist Chaka (real name: Tomiko Ankyu), their sound blended glossy synths, funky basslines, and Chaka’s effortlessly cool vocals, making them staples of Japan’s city pop and electronic pop wave. They became iconic for contributing tracks to anime like *Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ*, and their music—think neon-lit night drives and retro-futuristic vibes—still resonates in playlists today. With releases like *TWO HEARTS*, *WINDOW*, and the compilation *GOLDEN☆BEST*, their discography is a time capsule of catchy, dreamy grooves. Though they disbanded in 1996, PSY・S’s music lives on through reissues and nostalgic revivals, proving their style was truly ahead of its time.
