EPMD

EPMD is a seminal hip-hop duo hailing from Brentwood, Long Island, New York, consisting of Erick Sermon ("E Double") and Parrish Smith ("PMD"), with the group's name being an acronym for "Erick and Parrish Making Dollars." Formed in 1987, the duo quickly established itself as a leading force in the golden age of hip-hop with their funk-laden beats and laid-back lyrical delivery. Their unique sound, often incorporating samples from various funk and soul records, set them apart from their peers and has been widely influential in the genre.

EPMD's discography boasts several critically acclaimed albums, starting with their debut "Strictly Business" in 1988, followed by "Unfinished Business" and "Business as Usual," among others defining the sound of East Coast rap at the time. Their lyrics often revolved around themes of business acumen, street-smart narratives, and the rap industry. Despite disbanding and reuniting multiple times, they have maintained a loyal fan base and continue to drop new material and remixes as evidenced in their recent releases such as "For The People (Chi Thanh Remix)," "For The People (Sonny Fodera Remix)," and "The Main Event Remix." Their longevity and adaptability have secured EPMD's legacy as one of the most respected duos in hip-hop history.
