Alf Carlsson

Alf Carlsson is a Swedish jazz guitarist based in Stockholm, known for his versatility and deep musicianship. Born in 1991, he is recognized as one of Sweden’s most sought-after session and jazz guitarists. Alf graduated from the prestigious Royal College of Music in Stockholm and released his solo debut album "Lights" in 2023, which has earned him a strong reputation in the jazz community.

Besides his solo work, Alf is a key member of the Alf Carlsson/Jiří Kotača Quartet, a European jazz group blending Swedish, Czech, and Slovak musical influences. The quartet is celebrated for their original compositions that combine Nordic melancholy with Eastern European lyricism, featuring arrangements inspired by folk tunes from their respective countries. They have performed extensively across Europe and received critical acclaim, including winning the Czech "Grammy" - Ceny Anděl in 2024. Alf also has the notable distinction of having composed music for the Nobel Prize ceremonies.
